Whole Farm Revenue Protection

Train-the-Trainer: A Workshop on Whole Farm Revenue Protection

Get valuable tools and resources to assist organic, sustainable, and diversified producers manage risk on their farms.

This training on crop insurance options features Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP), which provides a risk management safety net for all commodities on the farm under one insurance policy, enabling many growers who have previously not had insurance options to now obtain coverage. The training also covers several other agricultural insurance programs that may be valuable risk management tools for farmers. The workshop is designed for educators, service providers, and insurance agents to learn more about how to assist farmers with these programs, but is available to all, and may be useful for growers. (FarmLink will host a webinar, “Crop Insurance for Diversified and Organic Farmers,” on September 14, 2016; this webinar will also be made available on the website. Please visit for more information.)

The recorded workshop features presentations from Brett Melone, California FarmLink’s Director of Lending, and Catharine Anderson, Risk Management Specialist with the USDA Risk Management Agency (RMA), and includes a Q&A session. We have also made each individual presentation available for download below:
